StickSquad

A little crew, right on your desktop.

Up to five stickmen, each with their own personality, voice and habits, live along your taskbar. They walk, climb the edges of your screen, hang from the top, hop onto your windows and ride them about. Leave them be and they play: tag, hide and seek behind your windows, penalty shootouts, dance-offs, conga lines and group photos. They remember who they get on with.

Play with them. Click one to chat. Right-click to poke it, wiggle to tickle, stroke its head to pet it, pick it up and throw it (it may open a parachute). Drop a file on one and it reads it to you.

Get small things done.

• Reminders and timers, said out loud when they are due.

• Focus sessions: the whole crew sits down and works beside you, with gentle, guilt-free break nudges.

• A to-do list they draw on your screen as sticky notes — and keep in step with Google Tasks if you like.

• Meeting heads-ups before each Google or Outlook meeting, with a Join button for Meet, Zoom and Teams.

• "What needs a reply?" and "put lunch with Sam on Friday" with Gmail or Outlook — nothing is sent without your OK.

• "Tidy my downloads": files into folders, shown first, undone in one sentence.

• A researcher for students that finds and cites sources — and never writes the essay.

• A language buddy with a word a day in Spanish, French, Tagalog, Japanese, German or Italian.

Share them. Record a few seconds of what they are up to as a video, or send one of your stickmen to a friend's desktop for a day as a postcard.

Private by default. The AI, the voices and speech recognition all run on your PC. There is no account, no analytics and no tracking, and by default the app makes no network connections at all. A Privacy screen shows exactly what you have turned on and what is kept.

Kind by design. They are openly AI, never people. No streaks, no guilt, no "I'll miss you". Family-friendly.

Make your own. Personalities, dances and outfits are simple files in a mods folder.

Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Tasks, Outlook and Teams features need your own Google or Microsoft account and are optional.

Needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), not in S mode, with 8 GB of memory (16 GB recommended) and about 3 GB of disk space.

The installer is not code-signed yet, so Windows may say "Windows protected your PC" the first time. Click "More info", then "Run anyway". To check the download is genuine, its SHA-256 is 183b55213bfa4c0aa1e06b930e2e76aba178e878d1ba7e726b1410231c0e2e11.

The download is a .zip with the installer inside: open it and run StickSquad-Setup-1.0.5.exe (the SHA-256 above is that file's).
